It has undoubtedly been a strange week, having had two days without students in school. I would like to thank you for the support and understanding you have shown in light of the recent strike action which has affected our school. As I set out in January, strike action has been a last resort in an ongoing battle to get fair funding for schools and fair pay for teachers. You will have seen in the news that there is yet to be any progress made towards a resolution for teachers in England, and it is unfortunately not yet clear when a resolution will be reached. Hopefully very soon. My thanks to the support staff who supervised the small number of students who have been on-site during strike days – you have made a strange time that bit more enjoyable for them and they appreciated this very much. Wishing a happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, grandmothers, aunts and relatives for whom we will be showing thanks this weekend . The children are promising to be on best behaviour and will do their best to ensure you have a lovely day – enjoy. Have a good weekend. Mrs Cross Read the full newsletter here
